JOB TITLE: ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE - Statewide Contracting of America

JOB SUMMARY: The Account Executive is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies specific to the growth verticals within the assigned District. Growth verticals may vary by market and may include small to medium-sized municipal contracts, industrial and commercial accounts, milling and paving, and parking lot sweeping/maintenance.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Identify viable leads, retain active accounts, and acquire new sales opportunities specific to the growth verticals with the assigned District.

Maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends in assigned market to anticipate changing customer needs; provide proactive and effective feedback to District leadership.

Maintain thorough knowledge of the company’s available services per lines of business, pricing structures, and develop and execute strategies to offer additional services specified by customer.

Establish long term business relationships with new clients to grow revenue and meet pricing objectives.

Execute service agreements with customers. Lead contract negotiations in all new sales opportunities for the area; prepare and maintain bid targets and pipeline structure.

Responsible for RFP and Proposal Development including preparing, assembling, packaging, and delivering all proposals for new business and the retention of assigned accounts.

  • Negotiate and coordinate with existing customers during pricing initiative rollouts to retain the relationship and associated revenue.
  • Builds relationships and increase company visibility through participation in company sponsored activities, trade shows, Chamber of Commerce events, and similar community and industry activities.
  • Partner with Operations Team and Customer Service department to proactively anticipate and address customer needs. Escalate any concerns or ‘at risk’ accounts and develop strategies to mitigate account and revenue losses.
  • Perform on-site client visits periodically to ensure that quality service that meets contract requirements and client expectations is effectively delivered, document deficiencies and effectively recommend corrective action to operations team as appropriate.
  • Utilize SalesForce.com on a daily basis inclucing scheduling and documenting all activities for new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for achieving and/or exceeding monthly retention and growth quota.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 3+ years of service-industry sales experience required with a proven track record of exceeding revenue quotas and effectively managing and growing a book of business. Bachelor's degree in business administration, advertising, journalism, marketing or related field strongly preferred and prior experience in a related industrial services-type field strongly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to achieve growth quotas, learn quickly and apply knowledge to business goals.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required, with a demonstrated ability to articulate material and changes in an organized, professional manner, and reassuring manner.

Effective interpersonal and listening skills required including the ability to collaborate with others on articulate, well thought out presentations and proposals.

Strong organizational, problem solving, time management, and negotiation skills required.

Demonstrated ability to build and nurture internal and external customer relationships.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIRMENTS NECESSARY TO DO THIS JOB

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use both hands, is constantly required to talk and hear (effectively communicate verbally in person and via regular telephone equipment in English), and must be able to read computer screens, and both read and create correspondence and reports in English. Must be able to write handwritten reports and notes in clear, legible English.

The employee must frequently sit (or stand) at a desk, frequently stand and walk, occasionally stoop and/or bend, and frequently reach with both hands and arms.

Must be able to commute to and from client locations and company offices to perform the job duties on a consistent basis within the work hours required. Must also be able to travel using standard air carriers and processes on a frequent basis, including overnight travel, hotel stays and use of personal vehicle and rideshare travel.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. May be required to climb stairs on an intermittent basis (such as when visiting a site or customer location).

The job is generally performed in an office setting; however, during site visits the employee may be subject to adverse conditions such as rain, cold or heat for short periods of time.

The ambient noise level is usually quiet, consisting of normal conversations, business machines (copiers, printers, etc.) and telephones, but occasionally may be above normal for portions of the workday.

The employee must be able to work a regular full-time schedule and must be able to work more than a standard 40 hour, Monday-Friday schedule as required by business needs (i.e., must have flexibility and willingness to work the amount of time required to meet expectations for the position, which may regularly be an additional 10+ hours per week, including some evening and weekend hours on an infrequent basis).
