POSITION FEATURES:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Sr. Manager, Accounting is responsible for selecting, developing and evaluating the team(s) which ensures the efficient and effective operations of the assigned function(s). The incumbent provides overall guidance and leadership in the coordination and preparation of business plans, forecasts and other high level financial projects. The Sr. Manager, Accounting develops and implements financial systems that are in compliance with company policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives through the coordination of activities with a direct responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.
  • Manage the coordination, analysis and preparation of diverse financial data and reports for the assigned business unit(s) on a routine basis.
  • Drive the development and implementation of new and update processes; focusing on continuous improvements which maximize the efficiency and efficacy of operations within the assigned function(s).
  • Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of applicable systems which enable advanced analyses in alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) by serving as a technical resource to cross-divisional teams; establishing and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and development plans for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee matters.
  • Provide technical guidance.
  • Assist with various projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of accounting staff.


EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree desirable


EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 6 - 8 years' related experience.
  • 3+ years' experience as a Manager preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage one or more departments.
  • Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and email applications.
  • Working knowledge with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and business warehouse (BW) systems preferred (e.g., BEx, SAP, etc.).
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently under limited supervision.
  • Strategic thinker with creative problem solving skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask concurrent priorities in an organized manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.
  • Adept negotiation skills with the ability to influence diverse audiences through diplomacy and tact.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
