Bretton Woods Recreation Center is hiring a Adventure Camp Bus Counselor for the summer of 2023. The Bus Counselor will be responsible for taking bus attendance, facilitating bus transportation policies and procedures, and overseeing bus transportation for campers. Bretton Woods Adventure Camp runs weekly from June 19th through August 21st, 2023.

Essential Functions

• Attend staff training
• Arrive to first bus stop on time
• Make sure that all attendance is taken when campers arrive on the bus in the morning and once they get back on the bus in the afternoon
• Supervise all campers on the bus in the morning run and evening run
• Consult with the Camp Director regarding any issues
• Practice and enforce all camp safety regulations and emergency procedures
• Responsible for the health and well being of self and campers
• Perform all other duties and roles assigned by the Camp Director or Assistant Director
• Welcome campers with positive energy
• Monitor campers during bus transportation
• Maintain safety standards and compliance

Requirements

• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Experience teaching or leading outdoor skills/activities
• Experience in outdoor activities preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work with all ages
• Must be flexible, positive, and can work in a team-oriented environment
• Able to work under pressure and focus on multiple tasks while maintaining high quality standards
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment where change and improvement is always present
• Must have reliable transportation (no access to public transportation)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Lift, carry, pull, and push up to 75 pounds
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
