The Committee on Academic Misconduct (COAM) seeks an Assistant Coordinator to serve the office and the students at the University. COAM is charged with maintaining the academic integrity of The Ohio State University by establishing procedures for and investigating all reported cases of alleged academic misconduct by students. Academic integrity is essential to maintaining an environment that fosters excellence in teaching, research, and other educational and scholarly activities.
The Assistant Coordinator will supervise four full-time staff members responsible for intake, intake, investigation, and resolution of all allegations submitted to COAM: creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all the university community. In this role, the assistant coordinator will perform all aspects of the performance management and planning process, hiring, training, and office management. The Assistant Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing and investigating cases as they are submitted, serving as a hearing officer, managing the hearing process, and supporting students to resolution. This position will meet with students and will promote student focused processes while upholding university standards and the university’s shared values. This position will be responsible for case management processes and determining appropriate changes to internal processes. In addition, this position will work with the Coordinator to compile case trend analysis for annual reports or as needed.
The Assistant Coordinator collaborates with the coordinator to create, revise, update and implement strategic priorities for the office. This position will provide leadership in collaboration with and in the absence of the coordinator regarding any emerging issues or assessing risk. This position will serve as a subject matter expert to multiple university offices.

Duties/Responsibilities
60% Assist with case creation; Investigate allegations and seek additional information; ask questions; Consult with students, instructors, and other parties as needed; Set Charges; Serve on hearing panels; Meet with students to share process; Work with OSU IT Security to obtain additional case information as needed
25% Develop standard operating procedures; Assist with setting strategic priorities; Assist with development of OnBase process changes; Provide summary of all appeals to SAE; Uphold integrity, shared values, and student code of conduct; Assist with updating the COAM website content in partnership with OAA Marketing and Communications Team; Manage staff; Hire, train, and performance manage staff
15% Develop and analysis data on case trends; Develop annual report; Partner with leaders, chairs and instructors often to education and bring awareness; Assist Coordinator with development of educational sanctions; other duties as appropriate
