The Associate Collections Representative (Posting) is responsible for accurately posting, processing, and balancing activities related to third party remittances, insurance payments and all forms of payments received from patients. Requires both manual and electronic remittances posting. Handling of unresolved inquiries/issues, and responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and managing organization policies on cash posting practices. May work with outside legal counsel and/or outside agencies in more complex collection cases.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (8:00am - 5:00pm). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accurately posting, processing and balancing all third-party payments, manual and electronic.
  • Post and balance all credit card, money order, and cash payments received from patients.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of bank deposits with remittance and payment files.
  • Maintain knowledge of insurance payments and rejection/denial processing.
  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely documentation of posting activity in the patient accounting system, including payment adjudication and denial processing.
  • Assists Analyst with unapplied cash, balancing and adjustment issues as they are discovered. Completes documentation daily to support posting to unapplied cash.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 6+ months posting experience
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Basic Proficiency with Windows PC applications and Microsoft Office (create, edit, format Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (8:00am - 5:00pm). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree (or higher)
  • Epic experience
  • Background in a medical/healthcare setting

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
