We have a great opportunity in our OSX Café located in Seattle, WA for a Chef Admin (6:00am – 2:30pm). This isn’t just a typical Admin position – we produce, on average, over 600 meals a day (from scratch!) and represent a global cuisine in a beautiful state of the art kitchen! This position provides fresh and delicious meals, as part of our corporate dining team, to one of the largest social media companies in the area.

What Your Day Look Like:*

  • Collaborates with all chefs, managers and leads on rotating menus.
  • Updates the menu card tool with any necessary edits
  • Verifies and prints all menu cards and distributes them to each department
  • Verifies all menus posted on internal sites are uploaded properly and have all up to date and current information including possible allergens and dietary information
  • Checks the Constructive Feedback internal pages and communicates with the Chef Team
  • Meets with Chef, Manager or Lead to go over any final changes to the days menu and soups and makes final edits in the card tool as needed
  • Creates card, prints, and distributes to the appropriate station
  • Handles all administrative tasks
  • Meets with Dinner Team Chef(s), Manager or Lead to go over any changes to the dinner menu
  • Inputs all guest count information into Excel daily
  • Responsible for making new docs each week and maintaining records in the internal Dropbox file
  • Constantly checks emails and culinary feedback pages for any pertinent information
  • Edits menus as needed, assigned, or instructed
  • Communicates with the Pastry Team regarding any needs or menu changes
  • Communicates with the Purchasing Team regarding menus
  • Attends weekly Chef menu meetings and records
  • Compiles and prints all Chefs Packets for the Culinary Team and places in the Chefs filing cabinet
  • Assists in any related office equipment issue(s)
  • Assists with training of new Team Members on identified equipment as needed
  • Manages inventory of Team Member pants, cut gloves, hats, black shirts, etc.
  • Maintains overall cleanliness of office and administrative area(s)
  • Orders and maintains all office supplies

What we're looking for:

  • Exceptional culinary skills and experience with high volume production and large batch cooking
  • Advanced proficiency of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, sanitation, food cost controls and presentation
  • High level experience with menu planning and recipe development
  • Must have a valid King County Food Handler Permit within 10 days of starting
  • Must have non-slips shoes in the kitchen
  • Must complete all required trainings Learn, Legal, and Privacy
  • Ability to understand and communicate basic English (speaking, writing, reading)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and balance to perform job tasks
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check, in accordance with Washington State's Fair Chance Employment Act, RCW chapter 49.94
