HR – JD – Church Clerk

POSITION: CHURCH CLERK

REPORTS TO: Senior Pastor

TERM OF SERVICE: 1 year term (renewable)

DAYS: Tuesday - Thursday

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This staff role is designed to provide administrative support to the overall day to day operations of the church and reports directly to the Senior Pastor (unless otherwise realigned). This is an in-person position with scheduled office hours.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Front Desk Support – During business hours, this role offers the first impression to our members, clients, vendors and visitors of Victory Community Church. It is expected that the employee will arrive on time and maintain a high level of professionalism, fostering a customer service friendly environment whether via the phone or in-person.
  • Database Management – Employee will be expected to maintain and update as needed the church’s membership database by keeping accurate records and regular reporting as requested.
  • Resource Facilitator – Employee will be expected to be knowledgeable of VCC workflows in order to properly redirect inquiries to the appropriate department or party for service.
  • Calendar Management – Employee will be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date calendar of church events, meetings, and services to support the Senior Pastor and ministry leaders in planning.
  • General Administrative Office Tasks – Employee will be expected to handle general office tasks including but not limited to data entry, mail processing, responding to general emails, answering phones, copying or printing documents, physical or digital filing, etc.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Experienced writer and/or editor
  • Experience and/or degree in Business Administration or Communications
  • Experience in database management a plus
  • Phone Etiquette
  • Ability to work with diverse team
  • Ability to adapt in fast pace environments

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $300.00 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Houston, TX 77075: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Microsoft Office: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Administrative experience: 1 year (Preferred)
