Job Description

Community Event Planner/Community Relations Coordinator

Position – General Description/Responsibilities

Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Community Event Planner/Community Relations Coordinator is responsible for scheduling weekly off-site local and regional community events and maintaining a master events calendar. Employee will be responsible for reaching out to community partners, elected officials and community leaders to invite them to participate in the community events as well as planning all logistics related to these events. Employee will also be responsible for recruiting and coordinating volunteers and others to help work the community events. Employee will be interacting frequently with donors and community leaders and as a result will be the face of the organization and must be able to present well, communicate effectively and engage in onsite problem solving frequently.

Requirements:

· Willing to work Tuesday through Saturday.

· Good oral and written communications skills, both English and Spanish.

· Good organizational and time management skills.

· Ability to follow directions and meet established goals.

· Prior experience planning, organizing and promoting large events.

· Prior experience supervising and managing employees.

· Ability to use Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

· Valid Florida Driver’s License.

Employment offer may be contingent upon completion of an interview, fitness evaluation, physical, drug screen, and/or background investigation.
