As the Superintendent, you will be responsible for running all field construction activities for your assigned project. This includes working with the Project Manager in determining method of construction, sequencing, manpower levels, material qualities, equipment and work schedule. You will also supervise all craft foreman and craft persons in execution of construction activities. He/she will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Duties and responsibilities
· Study contract documents to plan construction schedules and staffing requirements for each phase of construction; determine the required tools, materials, and equipment needed to meet work schedules
· Work with supervisors and subcontractors in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting contract documents, and coordinating various phases of construction
· Collaborate with Project Manager, subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, vendors, and suppliers of tools / materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
· Inspect work in progress to ensure that there is quality workmanship which conforms to contract documents, construction schedules, and Spectrum Building quality standards.
· Verify that products and methods used meet or exceed project specifications.
· Maintain the daily log, notes, and photos on Procore, our Project Management platform.
· Maintain open communication between all contractors to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc. are in place to support the project activities and project schedule.
· Responsible for compliance with all OSHA regulations and Company safety policies and procedures
· Communicate and reinforce the vision, values, and goals including IIF (Incident and Injury Free) safety program
Job Skills & Qualifications
Preferred:
· Experience Using Site Max
· 3+ years of experience working in the commercial construction industry
· Willingness to travel within NC and SC/ Can be local only. Looking for both.
· Experience in Mecklenburg County
Required:
Must be willing to travel within NC and SC.
· Ability to read and interpret construction documents
· Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling
· Able to produce and communicate a two-week look ahead schedule.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills and an ability to control and supervise large groups
