Finance Director, Americas

CooperSurgical, Inc

Trumbull, CT

Position Summary:

The primary function of the Finance Director, Americas is to support the Corporate Controller through the various accounting functions, including month end close, acquisitions, SOX and other reporting requirements, in additional to ad-hoc project support across the Americas and CSI Corporate functions.

Essential Functions:

    • Responsibility for team of 5-7 various direct reports including local Controllers in Canada and Costa Rica
    • Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions including approving and reviewing monthly journal entries
    • Support corporate reporting functions such as leasing, non-recurring charges, tax and insurance
    • Review of reconciliations prepared by accounting team as appropriate
    • Complete monthly Flux and other required analysis, including review of team submissions
    • Support efforts to maintain internal controls/processes including development of controls as the business needs change
    • Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting to Corporate Reporting, Insurance and Tax Departments
    • Gather and review support for submission to internal and external audits
    • Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems and ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as internal financial policies.
    • Key contributor to ERP upgrades and improvements to IT software
    • Assess current accounting operations and offer recommendations for the improvement and implementation of new processes
    • Business acumen in a fast-paced environment; collaboration across levels
    • Perform additional duties as requested by management- such as process improvement projects

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
    • 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience
    • Preferred - CPA license or demonstrating progress toward achieving CPA
    • Experience with ERP Systems, ie. SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products to include Excel, Word, Outlook
    • High level of interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work cross functionally in order to achieve desired results
    • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional skepticism
