Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, programming and installing electrical control systems used in manufacturing; including plant power distribution equipment, facility electrical equipment and auxiliary systems.
***Coverage would be for 2nd and/or 3rd shift***
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
- Works with complex systems or performs highly technical mechanical or diagnostic tests.
- Performs and analyzes tests to track results and make improvements.
- Accurately compiles data.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot electrical control systems, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and general industrial control equipment.
- Identify and perform machine preventative maintenance and repairs based on machine operation and condition. Identify equipment requiring periodic maintenance and help develop and maintain schedules for maintenance intervals.
- Interact with production and operations associates to determine machine issues and resolution action plans. Set priorities based on production needs.
- Account for and record parts and supplies used for repairs of equipment and plant utilities.
- Develop B-O-Ms for electrical jobs performed in the plant.
- Involvement in determining spare parts stock levels and part types. Involved in developing a standard parts scheme for the plant.
- Involvement in creating and maintaining plant electrical system documentation.
- Keep plant electrical test equipment in proper working condition.
- Build new electrical control equipment as well as modify existing equipment.
- Read, develop and interpret technical documents and drawings (operating/maintenance instructions, electrical drawings and schematics, programs, procedure manuals).
- Fill out routine reports and communicate effectively. Make electrical print updates and corrections, and submit for approval and engineering updates.
- Understand and apply engineering principles as it applies to electrical control disciplines.
- Perform & manage small to medium plant electrical projects and work orders.
- Keep abreast of new electrical control technologies.
- Be available for off-shift technical support to production lines.
- Develop and conduct technical training for other plant associates.
- Utilize common sense to understand and carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions. Give proper feedback as to when instructions are not clear.
- Operate, utilize, and maintain a personal computer for electrical troubleshooting, programming, configuring, and general maintenance of electrical control equipment.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills.
- Follow plant electrical safety procedures.
- Understand & follow NEC/NFPA 70, 70E, & 79, as well as OSHA code regulations as it pertains to the plant facility & equipment.
- Must use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for this position as indicated on the Job Assessment for PPE form.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Training in an electrical discipline.
- A minimum of three years of experience in electrical/industrial controls.
SPECIALIZED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Electrical Field or related technologies preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must have close, distance, color, & peripheral vision abilities along with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
