Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Project Manager to support GEI s growing environmental remediation and compliance services within the oil and gas industry throughout the Gulf Coast region and beyond. The ideal candidate will have experience working at large, complex Sites such as refineries, bulk terminals, and other industrial facilities within State- and/or Federally-led regulatory programs. The candidate will bring a deep focus on technical excellence, strategic thinking, team leadership, and client relationships. This individual will author and peer review environmental reports, provide client and regulatory guidance, mentor junior staff, resolve environmental challenges on a variety of projects, and serve as project and client manager.

You will join a growing team of highly motivated project managers, staff professionals, and senior leaders with a deep focus on collaboration, quality, and client relationships. Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and review reports and technical presentations for delivery to clients and regulators.
  • Prepare Conceptual Site Models (CSM).
  • Develop and manage project plans, work scopes, schedules, and budgets with associated tracking and organizational tools.
  • Manage on-site field staff during the implementation of investigation and design projects and act as the primary point of contact in discussions with clients and contractors.
  • Work with junior staff and senior technical experts in offices throughout the nation to deliver high quality work products to local clients.
  • Support existing and new clients including participating in business development efforts, proposal preparation, and networking.
  • Provide technical direction and training to staff, as necessary to complete assignments.
  • Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop junior staff.
  • Delegate and coordinate project tasks.

  • Strong experience working with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Texas Risk Reduction Plan (TRRP). Specific experience with TRRP-32 LNAPL Guidance is a plus.
  • Excellent organization, schedule, and budget management skills.
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Overnight travel is required; approximately 20 to 30%.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or similar Science.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in environmental consulting.
  • Seller/Doer mentality and experience.
  • Collegial team builder with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Broad local/regional understanding of discipline needs and emerging trends.
  • Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
  • Professional registration (e.g., P.E., LSP, P.G., etc.) in area of expertise is a plus.
  • Master s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or similar Science is a plus.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
  • Valid U.S. Driver s license.
  • Willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments as needed.
