SUMMARY
The Material Expediter position on Government contract with the Missile Defense Agency, specializing in warehouse work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas, according to predetermined production schedules and order priorities: Reads production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status.
  • Locates and distributes materials to specified production areas, manually or using handcart, hand truck, or forklift.
  • Records and maintains perpetual inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed, manually or using computer.
  • Compiles and maintains records, such as material inventory records, production records, and timecards, manually or using computer.
  • May direct INDUSTRIAL-TRUCK OPERATOR or MATERIAL HANDLER to expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production areas.
  • May examine material received, verify part numbers, and check discrepancies, such as damaged or unmarked parts.
  • May compare work ticket specifications to material used at workstations to verify appropriate assignment.
  • May drive truck to outlying work areas to check status of orders or to deliver materials.
  • Other duties assigned

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

  • No supervisory or management authority.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Has five (5) or more years of experience in a customer service based field.
  • Has five (5) or more years of experience in a logistics based field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have an active DOD Secret level clearance.
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Has experience with driving a range of vehicles from cargo vans to 26’ box trucks.
  • Willing and able to provide excellent customer service to the workforce, keeping a positive attitude, and take pride and ownership of this position.
  • Must be able to pass a Background Investigation and Drug Screen.
  • Cherokee Federal has suspended it’s COVID mandate. However, it’s important to note that Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently not subject to enforcement by the Federal government. Therefore, Cherokee Federal has suspended application of the mandate and continues to monitor the government’s guidance on administration of any vaccine requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Warehouse space and other Government-owned/leased space
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 7:00 am-4:00 pm
  • May require occasional lifting or moving of items up to 35 lbs.
