Job Description

The Center for Disability and Access CDA provides accommodations to students with disabilities on campus. The primary responsibility for this position is to open and close the office Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (this position is not eligible for telework). Additionally, the Front Desk Coordinator is responsible for the operation and services provided within the front desk area. The Coordinator will also work extensively with faculty, staff, and students in providing exceptional customer service, resolving complaints, answering phones, and supporting operations of the CDA office.

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Open and close the office 8A-5P M-F with occasional evening hours required.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the front office area including supervision of part-time student staff.
  • Maintain office supplies and recommend purchasing of supplies.


Customer Service:
  • Provide direct student and faculty-facing support, serving as a primary receptionist. Resolve problems and respond to complaints.
  • Provide customer service training to front desk staff.

Recruiting:
  • In coordination with the Associate Director responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training of part-time student staff and evaluating the performance of student staff.

Department Procedures:
  • Assist in the revision and addition of department procedures related to the front desk and customer service operations.

Other duties as assigned, including providing support for all office functions and other services as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in a business-related field or equivalency; two years full-time customer service; supervisory experience or equivalency; and demonstrated effective human relations and communication skills required.

Bachelor’s degree in a business related field and cash handling experience preferred.

Preferences
  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalency plus two years of related experience or comparable knowledge working in higher education setting, ability to use logic, reasoning, prioritize tasks, computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet software, and database software.
  • Bachelors degree may be preferred.
  • Understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act preferred.
