Job Summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking a Histology Technician 1 for our Histology Team within our Safety Assessment site located in Shrewsbury, MA.

This position is responsible for performing basic histology laboratory procedures including trimming, processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and coverslipping. Participates in the documentation of all activities as required.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. required. Associates degree or equivalent in a biologic scientific related discipline preferred.
  • Experience: One year laboratory experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Certification/Licensure: None.
  • Other: Must be able to perform effectively as a team member, accurately record data, communicate effectively. Have the ability to differentiate normal from abnormal tissue and know correct anatomic terms. Proficiency in the use of standard software and with standard laboratory calculations.

The pay range for this position is $22.00- $26.00/hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
