ALDF is looking for a HR Manager (HRIS & Administrative)

Who we are

The Animal Legal Defense Fund’s mission is to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system. The Animal Legal Defense Fund accomplishes this mission by filing high-impact lawsuits to protect animals from harm, providing free legal assistance and training to prosecutors to assure that animal abusers are held accountable for their crimes, supporting tough animal protection legislation and fighting legislation harmful to animals, and providing resources and opportunities to law students and professionals to advance the emerging field of animal law.

What you’ll be doing

A HR Manager that is responsible for managing our Human Resources Information System (HRIS), which is a software application used to store, manage, and analyze employee data. This role involves overseeing the HRIS system's implementation, maintenance, and upgrades, as well as ensuring data accuracy and security. Additionally, HRIS Managers may create and run reports to analyze HR metrics and provide insights to the HR Director. They may also manage other HR processes and administrative workflows. Ultimately, the HRIS Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the HR department's operations run efficiently and effectively by leveraging technology to streamline processes and provide data-driven insights.

You will be responsible for…

  • Manage the HRIS system (Paylocity) and ensure that all employee data is accurately maintained.
  • Develop and maintain reports and analytics to provide insights into the employee data.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director to implement HRIS-related initiatives, including process improvements and system upgrades.
  • Provide training and support to employees on the HRIS system.
  • Oversee HR administrative duties, including new hire onboarding, employee benefits administration, HR compliance, and record-keeping.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to HR administration.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director to develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage employee relations issues, including investigating and resolving employee complaints, grievances, and conflicts.
  • Support the HR Director with various HR projects and initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The Human Resources Manager is a full-time, exempt position. Compensation is based on market factors and geographic location. The starting compensation range for this position is $72,408 to $90,510. The range is based on our job value scale of 90-100%, dependent on your previous experience in this specific role.
  • ALDF has an excellent benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance that is 100% paid for by ALDF for the employee.

Requirements:

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

  • Bachelor's degree in HR management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, with a focus on HRIS administration.
  • Experience with Paylocity or a similar HRIS system is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be tech savvy and have experience with basic software application, including, Outlook, Word, Excel and internet browsers, as well as all currently relevant social media platforms.
  • Must understand and be committed to the mission of the Animal Legal Defense Fund.
  • Must have excellent references relevant to similar positions held.
  • Must have a positive attitude and be able to work cooperatively with others and function well in a team-oriented work environment.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with members, supporters, co-workers, etc.
