Basic Function:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Injection Molding Mechanic will be responsible for all production maintenance, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of injection molding machines and downline equipment. This role involves applying mechanical expertise in determining work methods and procedures for producing quality product. Conducts all operations in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing injection molding equipment and secondary support equipment.
  • Independently troubleshoot injection molding issues
  • Troubleshoot part removal, robotic machinery issues
  • Troubleshoot label decorating and vision inspection equipment.
  • Maintenance and repair of injection molding presses, take-out robots and downline decorators such as Hot Stampers, Hot Transfer Label, and fitment machines
  • Preventative maintenance on all equipment
  • Optimize Run Time / Minimize Downtime
  • Responsible for coaching/mentoring/training maintenance technicians/apprentices
  • Serves as a strong technical resource in the plant.
  • Follow all Lock-out Tag-out procedures
  • Work as a team with all levels of production staff


Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience with Husky molding machines
  • Experience with CMMS systems
  • Strong hydraulics and electrical experience
  • Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.
  • Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges
  • Basic understanding of systems, equipment, and schematics
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good troubleshooting skills
  • Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions
  • Must be an Industrial Millwright
  • Progressive knowledge of electrical, electronic, PLC, applications, hydraulics, schematics
