There are four shifts:


Sunday- Wednesday 7:00am - 5pm (40 hours per week)

Thursday - Saturday 7:00am -5pm (30 hours per week)

Tuesday - Friday 4:00pm -2:00am (40 hours per week)

Saturday - Monday 4:00pm -2:00am (30 hours per week)

Job Summary: Work as part of a team to provide comprehensive community supports for young adults in transition to community based supported housing programs with emphasis on recovery oriented services. Specifically assist clients with making sustainable and reliable community based support networks, learn daily living skills to promote long term permanent housing, and empower clients to become active members of their residential environment. Will work with an assigned caseload.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Ability to work non-traditional schedule as required for supporting clients at their housing site including holidays as assigned.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and resolution as needed.
  • When necessary, supervise residents taking medications, visually making sure they are taking correct doses at appropriate times.
  • Maintain client and staff confidentiality at all times.
  • Have legible handwriting.
  • Be able to do simple mathematics.
  • Be able to read and comprehend agency/client charts.

Specific Duties Required of Housing Support Specialists

  • Provide assistance in Activities of Daily Living as needed for clients, per their treatment plan.
  • Assistance includes hygiene needs, meal prep, laundry, daily skills groups, community outings, and weekly assessment of living space for
  • cleaning purposes.
  • Coordinate client needs which may include but are not limited to assistance with medical/dental appointments, engagement with community based supp networks, information and referral services for food banks, vocational services, or other client identified needs. Accompany client to these appointments when if necessary.


  • Maintain client records in keeping with agency, county, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Provide input to client primary psychiatric provider and/or case manager on client progress and input on treatment plan.
  • Facilitate assigned group activity sessions and specialized client events i.e. field trip, holiday party, etc.
  • Assist in admission and discharge planning to community based supported housing programs per supervisor direction.
  • Perform assigned duties which include but are not limited to:

  • Reads daily log and documents after each shift, informs other housing support staff of any potential emergency situations i.e. maintenance problems, resident medical/mental status.
  • Daily interaction with clients to assess their progress.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and community meetings when on duty and/or as assigned.
  • Lead assigned life skills groups.
  • Coordinate client orientation, and monitor and inform property manager of room maintenance during resident move-in/move-out and as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:

  • Current First Aid and CPR cards.
  • Current Food Handler Permit.
  • Current home phone/address.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record in order to use

agency vehicles.

  • Documentation of personal insurance in order to use personal vehicle for member transport and to use agency vehicles.
  • 10 hours per year of continuing education/training.
  • Agree to permit Criminal Conviction Inquiry.
  • Be free of substance abuse.
  • A working knowledge and adherence to all agency policies and procedures.




Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS preferred, High School Diploma/GED accepted with minimum 2 years experience.
  • Experience with target population or ability to acquire specialized training to work with target population.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Community House Mental Health Agency actively reviews our benefits package annually and in relation to market conditions. We strive to provide a comprehensive and valuable package of benefits to our employees. Full-time employment is defined as regularly scheduled 30 hours per week employment. Employees below 30 hours per week have benefits pro-rated to 50% down to 20 hours per week. Below 20 hours per week are not eligible for medical, dental benefits but can accrue vacation time per City of Seattle regulations.
