Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, install, and perform testing activities on various computer equipment, peripherals, data communication, and computer network systems.

· Assemble, install, configure, and test computer equipment or units of local area networks requiring use of standard interface protocols.

· Complete work orders such as installing equipment, connecting and moving devices or creating components of autonomous networks, installing disk drives, correcting definitions on data switches, protocol converters, etc.

· Develop and maintain software and hardware inventory and tracking systems; develop inventory lists and order, stock, and store electronic components.

· Prepare and submit vendor warranty claims, parts, and documentation associated with warranty repairs (with authorization from vendors).

· Install cable for the phones system. Perform moves, adds, deletes and other changes for phone usage. Set up calling features such as automatic call Distribution (ACD) groups, pick groups, call processing, and voice mail. Provide phone support and training to new users and solve miscellaneous phone problems.

· Install hubs and switches on the network.

· Provide support to users relating to both hardware and software problems on their personal computers.

· Perform preventive maintenance for computer, data communication, and/or peripheral equipment; test and adjust to appropriate standards.

· Contacts software vendors to obtain specifications, pricing, and other purchase related information needed to guide departments in their selection of software.

· Manage and maintain back-ups.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Training & Experience):

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 2 years experience in a progressively responsible position within information technology.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS: (If license(s) or certification(s) is required to practice a trade or profession, you must attach a copy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Knowledge of company programming procedures and programming languages.

· Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports.

· Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications.

· Knowledge of computer flow charts and of programming logic and codes.

· Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications.

· Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.

· Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.

· Ability to communicate in English and Spanish clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.

· Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting departmental policies and procedures.

· Ability to analyze, and appraise and organize facts and present material clearly and logically in oral or written form.

· Ability to take and follow directions from supervisor.

· Ability to perform other duties as assigned.

· Ability to maintain good planning and organizational skills.

· Ability to use computer hardware, various software programs and technologies, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.

· Ability to maintain a good and positive working relationship with all co-workers and other contacts.

· Required to comply with all JAMCO’s policies and procedures.

· Ability to follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work in a non-climate controlled environment working closely with others and alone with light traveling required. Work involves rotating shifts and working extended workdays outside the regular working hours and on-call status; Work requires simple grasping, standing, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, walking, carrying up to 15 pounds, and light lifting under 24 pounds. Ability to see, write, count, read, identify shade of colors, and hearing is needed to perform essential functions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
