Rosco Vision Systems is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team! The Design Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering department, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
· Design and document specific automotive component assemblies using 3D CAD modeling software
· Create drawings with part lists for each new product
· Develop and test all aspects of mirror assemblies, visor assemblies, automotive video camera and video monitor installations; hands-on ability to modify components and assemble prototypes
· Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as injection molded components, sheet metal parts, castings and complex tubular parts
· Communicate with customers and suppliers as needed
· Run computer-aided simulations to determine precise mirror assembly parameters, as well as compliance with Federal standards.
QUALIFICATION & SKILLS
· BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
· 4 to 6 years of experience as a Design Engineer or Related; work experience in the automotive industry a big plus
· High level of proficiency with Autodesk Inventor 2021 or newer: advanced part modeling, assembly modeling, surface modeling, detailed drawings, rendering; working knowledge of Autodesk Vault PDM or similar
· 3D printing experience a big plus
· Knowledge of GD&T dimensioning preferable
· MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Demonstrable DFMEA experience very desirable
· Experience with electrical components a big plus (simple circuits, LED systems, automotive A/V equipment)
· Fluent in English (read/write)

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
