EIS is currently seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to work onsite at O&G refineries in the Baton Rouge area. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of mechanical engineering experience and have previously worked at a refinery.

About the Job

• Analyze site fixed equipment performance and respond to plant operational events
• Drive site asset improvement in the areas of: Safety, Reliability, Environmental Performance and Equipment Capability and Efficiency in a team setting
• Support capital projects and minor modifications in the areas of design consulting, technical quality assurance, and start-up assistance
• Drive information and drawing improvements

• Demonstrate and accept personal accountability for quality of work
• Communicate and interact daily with Inspection, Maintenance, Process, and Operations team members

Required Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, B31.3, API 510 & 570
• Good communicative, resourceful, written and intuitive skills

• Maintain high ethical standards, while still remaining results-focused
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S

Education and Experience

• B. S. in Mechanical Engineering required
• Downstream technology (coking, hydroprocessing, cat cracking, chemicals etc) experience
• 5+ years' experience in fixed equipment
• Turnaround experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Outside work often requires moderate physical exertion including climbing scaffolding, kneeling, bending, taking field measurements, and walking projects
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Climbing (stairs/ladders) and field visits are required.

• Exposure to outdoors
• Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hardhat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other equipment as required.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
