Job Description

Role- Mechanical Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA, USA (Day one work from Office (WFO)
Rate: $49/hr or $90K per annum + benefits (open to negotiate for right fit)
Qualification: ME / MTech/MS/BE - Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 6 to 10 Years only

Job Description:

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering with 6-8 years’ experience/ master’s in mechanical engineering with 5+ years in Machine design. Semiconductor or Special Purpose Machine design experience preferred.
  • Must have current working experience of at least 2 years in Unigraphics NX and Team center Engineering.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, welding, machined parts, sheet metal
  • Knowledge of Materials -Aluminium, stainless steel grades, Plastics suitable
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing applied to complex engineering drawings
  • Generate and maintain Bill of materials
  • Ability to create Manufacturing drawings without supervision and review
  • Strong in GD&T, stackup analysis and DFMEA
  • FEA and ability to work with FEA Analysts, provide inputs to them, review results with them and make improvement suggestions

Soft Skills:

  • Good written and oral communication skills in terms of explaining design concepts
  • Must be able to work seamlessly with engineers from other departments and disciplines.
  • Self-organized and should be able to prioritize with minimum supervision

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Strong competence with the various tools, procedures, programming languages used to accomplish the job.

  • Master’s degree or a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience leading the development of tools used in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Experience leading the development of tools for servicing large capital equipment.
  • Experience leading multiple projects through the complete product development lifecycle.
  • Application and review of finite element analysis (FEA) to the design cycle
  • Performing tolerance studies/analysis, teaching other engineers to do the same
  • Fabricating piece part components and a familiarity with manufacturing best practices
  • Hands-on experience building complex assemblies
  • Experience writing system-level requirements and performing traceability analysis through the documentation tree.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assumes engineering responsibility for factory layouts in the San Diego factory, from concept design through manufacturing.
  • Responsible for adherence to an internal development process in all stages of the design cycle.
  • Works closely with manufacturing, integration and facilities to ensure your design is realized, problem free, and on-time.
  • Understands methods relating to clean product design, for use in a class1000 cleanroom.
  • Provides a necessary background and performs analysis design for manufacturability in low volume products and tools, and design for configuration management.
  • Generates module or system concepts to meet product requirements.
  • Qualifies designs using production modules and facilities.
  • Manages to a project plan including key deliverables, timeline, and budget.
  • Drives full documentation of design including, BOM, drawings, and procedures.
  • Develops verification and qualification test plans and executes to those plans.
  • Supports development activities using the Product Development Process including concept reviews, design reviews, proto builds, pilot builds, verification testing, etc., with records and completion of all open action items.
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner. Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders, and requests for quotes to suppliers.
  • Works closely with a team of internal engineers in an effort to embitter the entire team.
  • Interacts with cross-functional staff including engineers, scientists, manufacturing, suppliers, and QA to resolve quality issues.

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Machine Design: 5 years (Preferred)
  • master’s in mechanical engineering: 6 years (Preferred)
  • Unigraphics NX and Team center Engineering.: 2 years (Preferred)
