Job Description

Hours: 25 hrs/week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and some Friday(half-days)

No Ophthalmology experience required, but must be quick learner, hard working, reliable, and comfortable with observing eye procedures.

Technician skills/duties include:

• Exam room setup and preparation of patients for examination, including obtaining and recording accurate patient histories in the practice’s EMR system
• Performing workups for ophthalmology patients in an accurate and efficient manner (i.e. checking vision, pupils, tonometry, administration of eye drops)
• Performing various diagnostic testing( fundus photography, OCT)
• Answering patient questions, triaging phone calls from patients and referring physicians, and office organization and maintenance

Requirements:

• Must be a high school graduate
• At least 1 year of experience working in medical clinic preferred
• Proficient computer skills including experience with data entry/EMR and using Microsoft Word and Excel
