Medical Record Technician Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Medical Records Technician to join our team and oversee the organization and maintenance of patient records and provider compliancy in our healthcare facilities. The candidate must have knowledge and the capability to ensure the safety, security, and confidentiality of patient information always.

Responsibilities

• Review and track medical records for compliancy within in EHR.

• Knowledge of NY and PA laws regarding all types of Medical Record Release of Information.

• Maintain accurate records by following organization policies.

• Ensure patient charts, paperwork, and reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner.

• Keep all medical records confidential and protected.

• Upload any paper medical information in the EHR chart timely and efficiently.

• Complete answering phones, responding to emails, and processing requests appropriately and timely.

• Track Provider visits, updating portal and tracking for compliancy.

• Review Provider Orders and tracking for compliancy.

• Issue onboarding staff user access to EHR

• ICD-10 coding of new admissions and readmissions.

• Schedule and track specialty provider visits for all residents

• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements and skills

• Proven work experience in the Medical Records field

• Advanced understanding of medical terminology

• Proficient in information management programs and MS Office

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills

• Relevant training and/or certifications as a Medical Record Technician

• Knowledge based with ICD-10 coding and PDPM.
