Working Location: VGM Main Campus- Waterloo, IA with hybrid work possible


Work Hours Classification:
Full-time with opportunities to travel with assigned RAM to state, or industry shows, and/or other applicable engagements with members when necessary


What you will do as a Membership Account Manager:

The Membership Account Manager (MAM) is a relationship driven, consultative sales professional representing VGM. In this role, the MAM is a self-starter with strong communication skills, ability to close sales, and desire to surpass membership goals. Each MAM is partnered with at least one Regional Account Manager (RAM) and works from the VGM main office with members in a designated territory of the United States. The MAM’s primary functions are to:

  • drive retention of current VGM members
  • build service offerings with these members
  • develop and maintain vendor partner relationships
  • obtain new members and expand VGM membership.

Alongside their assigned regional manager, the MAM will be responsible for prospecting large and small HME providers in their territory. Commitment to in-depth knowledge of our service offerings and partnerships, as well as high-quality customer service is crucial to success. Ultimately, each MAM is tasked with building the VGM brand and membership portfolio and increasing revenue year over year.

  • Manage member portal requests, contact forms, and other communications specific to assigned territory
  • Recommend products and services to members based on their needs
  • Manage onboarding of new members and provide ongoing support
  • Conduct membership reviews with members
  • Strengthen current and develop new VGM vendor partner company relationships
  • Author timely communications to keep members informed of the latest VGM and industry news, events, and initiatives
  • Initiate Member engagement actions totaling 2-4x per year, per member assigned to MAM
  • Manage information and data in the CRM software
    • Timely tracking and documentation of all Member interactions/activities in the CRM
    • Create and manage tasks and opportunities in the CRM
  • Support members with questions and issues – know how and when to refer them for support elsewhere
  • Answer phone and email inquiries timely and accurately
  • Maintain a positive, results oriented work environment, building partnerships and model teamwork, communicating to others in an open, balanced, and objective manner

Education/Experience:

  • Prior B2B sales experience with ability to build relationships, identify needs and offer solutions to prospects and members.
  • DME or Healthcare experience preferred but not required

Skills and Competencies:

  • Relationship driven with the competence to build a membership community through the demonstrated traits of involvement in professional networking groups and the ability to attract new members and bond with these members
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Client focused approach to work
  • A high degree of professionalism/ability to interact with customers in a professional manner
  • Recognized proficiency to work well with others across the organization; demonstrating the ability to work cooperatively and build consensus
  • Proven attention to detail, follow-through skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize heavy workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning
  • Solid working knowledge of Excel and Tableau and relevant software such as MS-office: Word, PowerPoint etc.)

Physical Requirements

  • Using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment
  • Off-hour meetings and events on occasion
  • Periodic travel may be required
