Job Title: Mobile Outreach Services Manager

Reports to: President

Archangel Raphael’s Mission (ARM) is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to bring health and hygiene services to individuals who do not have regular access to these basic necessities. Mobility is at the core of our mission, as we strive to both support a person’s upward mobility in life, while also ensuring our services are mobile and accessible to meet people where they are. Our primary program, the Mobile Hygiene Unit (MHU) is a 2 stall shower trailer that is towed to partnered sites to provide free hygiene access to those who lack access elsewhere. In conjunction with free showers, ARM provides socks, hygiene kits, and invites wraparound services to improve the quality of life for those in the community. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mobile Services Manager (MSM) is an essential member of ARM’s Program Management Team and is an essential part of ARM’s expanded health and hygiene programming. The MSM provides oversight for ARM’s mobile hygiene service in the New Brunswick, NJ and Newark area, ensuring that onsite operations meet established operational standards and objectives.

  • Coordinate all on-site operations, including guest relations, data collection, service procedures, site safety, and vehicle operation and maintenance
  • Implement policies, procedures, and training that ensure the safety and well-being of all guests, volunteers, interns, and staff.
  • Meet all guests where they are, and provide as welcoming and restorative of an environment as possible
  • Capture guests stories, needs, and facilitate open dialogue between guests and volunteers
  • Coordination with site partnerships, volunteers, interns, and staff

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. On-site Operations

a. Safe driving and parking of vehicles

b. Set up, break down procedures

c. Guest relations

d. Resupplying

e. Data collection and reporting

2. Safety

a. Training – quickly become an adept tower, be extremely well versed in de-escalation

b. Coordinate outside professionals to provide support for the emotional and physical impact on staff and guests

c. All staff members are trained in best practices of on-site safety

d. All staff members abide by established practices for driving and parking the trailers

3. HR

a. Ensure that all staff/volunteers are clocking in and out daily accordingly to set procedures

b. Manages volunteer coordination

c. Recognizes and develops talented volunteers and interns

d. Makes recommendations to senior management regarding staffing and operations

and well-being of all staff members.

e. Recruits and dismisses volunteers when needed

4. Implementation of ARM goals, objectives, and processes

a. Maintains regular communication with the management team, including periodic meetings and hosting visits by management

b. Effectively communicates with local staff via regular all-staff meetings, meeting with individual staff members, requests visits from leadership as needed

c. Manages tracking of all inventory items, including donations

5. Site location management

a. Maintain regular communication with all site partners.

b. Continually review the benefits and challenges of all sites, and make recommendations of changes

c. Builds and maintains relationships with ARM partners

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

● Passionate about ARM’s mission

● Strong and effective supervisory skills

● Basic computer skills, including experience with Google Suite

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Awareness of homelessness issues

● Certified or able to be certified in CPR, first aid, and NARCAN administration.

● Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-related experience

● Two to three (2-3) years working with, providing service to, or volunteering with vulnerable populations preferred.

● Experience driving a commercial vehicle in an urban environment is a plus

● Experience managing a frontline team and a small fleet of vehicles

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

● This is an outdoor rain or shine project, and the MSM will be expected to work in all weather conditions

● When not providing hygiene service, MSM will work with the ARM team to participate in meetings, input data, and

help with reporting

● Must be prepared to deal with challenging circumstances related to mental health and personal hygiene of guests

● Must be able to assist ADA clients if there are mobility issues

● Able to lift up to 35 lbs+ Regularly

● Must be comfortable driving a 100 or 200 series work truck and towing small/medium-sized trailers

● Must be willing to work with a sensitive population during a public health crisis and beyond as a frontline/essential

employee.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
