POSITION SUMMARY
The primary function of this position is to grow, develop and maintain profitable revenue growth with 2 major national chains who each have over 2,000 locations across the country. In order to meet strategic business objectives, the Account Manager is tasked with investigating what the opportunity is at each of these organizations and to develop a specific plan for increasing sales and market share with these customers. Serving as the primary customer contact points, the Accounts Manager will also be responsible for the distribution of core product/policy knowledge and communication of key initiatives to other sales team members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • To call on all levels of contacts with these customers to learn if Cameron Ashley Building Products can serve them in a mutually beneficial manner.
  • Prioritize where we have the best opportunity for growth and develop specific plans for turning those opportunities into results.
  • Act as the key point of contact for multiple layers of Cameron Ashley Sales and Support functions in order to manage the start to finish fulfillment process for Home Depot and Lowes.
  • To become knowledgeable on all of the necessary steps in the ordering, acknowledging, shipping, receiving and invoicing procedures required by the customer in order to insure full payment of invoices. To educate all necessary Cameron Ashley Building Products staff on the correct procedures for handling transactions with these customers.
  • To become knowledgeable about the opportunity for responding to Job Quotes at each customer. Who in their organizations pursues this business and how we can grow our success rate in capturing these jobs.
  • Responsible for outlining and implementing communication channels with key customer contact persons at corporate headquarters, regional managers, and in store personnel.
  • Build and maintain multiple strategic growth strategies for these accounts to promote Cameron Ashley Building Products value-add differentiators
  • Develop appropriate account goals and service level protocols for internal support staff.
  • Collaborate with corporate procurement and marketing teams to provide customer insight.
  • Have ownership for effective program execution and maintenance as well as responsibility for meeting outlined budgets for revenue and margin.

REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field
  • 5-8 years of sales, marketing, and/or channel experience in the building products industry
  • Building materials industry experience
  • Experience managing national dealer and retail customers (HQ level preferred)
  • High energy self-starter with demonstrated skills in achieving sales, profitability and budget goals
  • Demonstrated commitment to building strong business relationships
  • Must be able to occasionally travel, including overnight
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass drug test and background verifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship for any length of time
