Job Description

General Summary

Performs advanced technical support of local, metropolitan and wide area networks and cloud-based networks to include planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating solutions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems*
  • Monitor network connectivity and ensure high quality data transmission*
  • Analyze local and wide area network systems, to include testing*
  • Resolve complex interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms *
  • Configure communication media with routers, switches, firewalls and other devices
  • Configure routine systems to user environments
  • Participate in planning, researching, evaluating, designing and developing plans for network systems
  • Conduct internal studies and research
  • Support acquisition of hardware and software, as well as, subcontractor services as needed
  • Provide technical support to various departments and users
  • Serve as liaison with vendors and other third-party providers
  • May serve as technical lead for lower level employees
  • Assists in proposal prep for new solutions

Required Skills

Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of related experience
  • US Citizenship Required; Ability to obtain and maintain DoD interim Secret Clearance prior to start date
  • Active and current 8570/8140 Computing Environment certificate for Network Administrator

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD SECRET or higher clearance
