Shipping Receiving Clerk Job Description

Here at La Segunda we pride ourselves in our craft and ability to make authentic Cuban bread. As a shipper you will learn techniques that we have been using for over 100 years and have kept us connected to the history of Ybor City. When you join our team, you will be reported to the shipping supervisor. Your position will be responsible for packing bread, cleaning cloths, counting bread, taking out trash and helping ship orders for local and foodservice customers.

Duties:

• Reports to Shipping Supervisor/Manager

• Come to work with clean, neat appearance and attire and make sure staff does as well.

• Maintain La Segunda’s high standards for product freshness, handling, and sanitation, while abiding by the health department requirements

• Maintain clean work area and keep it organized

• Pack various bread according to Company and Federal standards and policies for Wholesale, Food Service and Retail customers

• Packers need to look for color, size, skinny bread, and toughness to ensure quality bread

• Packers to stamp all boxes for quality control

• Ensure bread is packed at proper temperature

• Ensure bread is packed to number, container, and quality standards of La Segunda Bakery

• Ensure product for freezer is properly marked

• Prepare orders for all customers and record invoices

• Ensure all bread is properly labeled and accounted for per La Segunda requirements.

• Ensure all items are placed in freezer in timely manner once packed, labeled, and recorded as required by La Segunda

• Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods of time

• Clean panos daily

• Count bread when needed

• Help ship local and foodservice customers

• Use a forklift when needed

• Take out trash in the bakery

Qualifications:

• Basic mathematical skills to keep track of output

• Ability to clearly communicate company culture, purpose, and initiatives

• 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, shipping

• Able to work well with others

Pay Frequency:

• Weekly pay on Wednesdays

Schedule:
