Williams & Connolly LLP, is currently seeking candidates for the position of Patent Paralegal. This position will work closely with the IP practice group and Senior Paralegals. Under the direction of the Director of Paralegals, primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing paralegal support to attorneys, senior paralegals and case managers through all phases of litigation;
- Managing all case materials, including all electronic files and database applications;
- Obtaining from, or filing materials with, federal and local courts and agencies;
- Performing factual research;
- Tracking the course of information and case materials;
- Coordinating with outside vendors and service providers;
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, trials and arbitrations, as well as ensuring that logistics, exhibits, filings and deadlines are proactively managed.
- Knowledge of proceedings before the P.T.A.B;
- Experience with District Court proceedings in Hatch-Waxman cases;
- Familiarity with searching techniques and strategies in developing, collecting and organizing patent-related resources and references;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills;
- Experience multi-tasking and working under tight deadlines; and
- 3+ years of patent litigation experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, Word). Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and litigation support applications such as Relativity, CaseMap, and Case Notebook is preferred. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends and holidays. The ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs. is required. After successfully completing the introductory period, the candidate will be eligible to work the department's approved hybrid schedule.
