BASIC FUNCTION
The Fleet Garage Parts Specialist plans, develops, coordinates, orders, and monitors the purchase and delivery of parts and supplies for district school buses, trucks, cars and rolling stock equipment.

There is currently one (1) position available:

• Working Location is based out of the Pupil Transportation Department - 4710 Cardin Street San Diego, CA 92111
• Scheduled for 40 hours per week, 12 months per year

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to three years of full-time, paid experience in auto/truck parts sales and/or procurement.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California driver's license. Forklift operator certification.

KNOWLEDGE OF:
Quantity buying techniques and regulations.
Bus and truck parts and sources of supply.
Reading and writing English communication skills.

ABILITY TO:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Plan and organize work.
Meet schedules and time lines.
Maintain cost and other records.
Work independently with little direction.
Read, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Strength and energy sufficient to maintain a rigorous work schedule involving physical exertion; hearing and speaking to exchange information; seeing to perform assigned duties; sitting or standing for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; kneeling, bending at the waist and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally as needed; lifting heavy objects.
