GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
This Exterminator position is responsible for the prevention and control of pest infestation in buildings and surrounding of the Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS).

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

• Inspect buildings and surroundings for pest infestation and apply pesticide treatment as needed.
• Complete various reports and forms as required by the Board and State authorities.
• Maintain/prepare equipment and pesticide chemicals in safe and proper working conditions.
• Perform related duties as required.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:
Receives general supervision from assigned supervisory personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EXAMPLES OF REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

Knowledge of :

• State of Ohio pesticide regulations
• Pesticide chemicals
• Safety precautions needed for the proper handling and storage of pesticides; pest/rodent control
• Basic arithmetic and English

Ability to :

• Communicate orally and in writing
• Read and write reports
• Understand and follow written instructions
• Recognize pest and rodent infestation
• Operate and maintain equipment used
• Set rodent traps according to EPA regulations
• Work around fumes and odors
• Work without close supervision
• Work in cramped, dirty and dusty isolated areas
• Work other than normal work schedules (e.g., shift work, overtime, weekends, early morning, etc.)

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must have experience as an exterminator; OR currently employed with CPS and successful completion of the exterminator training program and an Ohio Operator Pesticide license.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid Driver License. Must be able to withstand physical agility and stamina to perform manual labor. Must be able to crawl and work for prolonged periods of time.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD:
Six (6) months.


EMPLOYMENT PROVISIONS
Starting Salary: $21.19 per hr
Service Period: Year Round

A consulting teacher may not be appointed to an administrative position while serving as a consulting teacher and for one full school year after serving as a consulting teacher.
