JOB DESCRIPTION


The Front Desk/Receptionist performs all clerical and administrative duties for the medical office, including answering incoming telephone calls and greeting patients, scheduling and confirming appointments, managing patient and business records, and processing patient insurance. He or she helps with accounting/bookkeeping and with marketing for the office. Our hours are 7am-7pm so must have flexibility to work a mix AM or PM shifts. Please note we are a medical facility so masks are required for all employees (until 5/11/23).


The ideal candidate has some post high school education or training and two years of experience in a position of similar responsibility (front desk, administrative assistant, etc.), preferably in a medical office. He or she must have a pleasant and courteous personality, strong administrative and organizational skills, strong phone and computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with medical coding/billing and/or record keeping is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Greets all patients and visitors in a warm, sincere, and helpful manner
  • Manages inbound phone inquiries and routes calls accordingly
  • Schedules and confirms patient appointments
  • Manages schedules for the therapists at the practice
  • Maintains patient charts
  • Helps with patient billing and insurance
  • Provides administrative assistance as needed
  • Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required
  • Maintaining referrals and authorizations for our patients
  • Responsible for collecting Copays
  • Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS


  • High school diploma or GED required; some post high school education or training preferred
  • Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Medical coding/billing and/or medical record keeping experience a plus
