Job Description

The primary duties for this position are related to implementing and benchmarking computational tools to predict binding sites of transcription factors in the human genome.

Job duties include:

  • mining the scientific literature for existing transcription factor binding site calls, which will be used in comparisons to the calls performed by the newly implemented tools;
  • mining the literature for high-throughput binding data (such as ChIP-seq and DNase footprinting) that can be used for benchmarking;
  • processing and analyzing high-throughput genomics data;
  • efficient implementation of algorithms previously developed in the Gordan laboratory to predict transcription factor binding sites, and using these algorithms to predict sites in the human genome;
  • preparing the results for publication.
