The Americas business unit within the largest sector of Ingersoll Rand, Industrial Technologies & Services (ITS), has an opportunity for a High Pressure Oil Free Product Manager. This role will report to the Product Management Leader for all oil free technologies within the ITS-Americas organization.


The High Pressure Oil Free Product Manager will deliver profitable growth for all high pressure oil free reciprocating compressor technologies from 300 to 6000 psig representing multiple brands and multiple channels in critical market segments for the business. This strategic role is vital to the success of the company in high pressure oil free markets and is responsible for strategy development, roadmap, new product introduction, and lifecycle management for the brands in the high pressure oil free compressor portfolio.


This role leads the organization for his/her/their portfolio much like a divisional general manager and is key to the organization for vision, strategy, and development of the future generations of high pressure oil free compressors, which represent a high growth portfolio segment. Multiple channels and markets make this role challenging and exciting.


What you will do

  • Own and manage strategy, roadmaps, business cases, and value proposition for all high pressure reciprocating complete compressors and services for the ITS Americas compressed air business unit.
  • Analyze market trends, technology trends, and other potential impact to oil free rotary products and services.
  • Create and defend business cases to justify revenue and incremental margin from new product development or inline product revisions.
  • Conduct key customer account portfolio reviews of products and services to win opportunities for incremental business and mitigate risk with existing partners
  • Conduct voice of customer activities to identify business, customer, and user needs based on customer account reviews, stakeholder interviews, and advisory panels. Represent the needs of end customers in all business activities.
  • Advocate for customer satisfaction through continuous improvement of operational excellence, including product quality & on time shipment
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams to execute on product development, integration, and commercialization plans to deliver on business case.
  • Deliver vision and implementation of lifecycle management of existing compressor platforms to support complete compressors and aftermarket parts sales.
  • Prepare sales forecasts for use in planning manufacturing operations, phase-in and phase-out and controlling inventories.
  • Travel at times to improve customer and channel intimacy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Technical, Scientific or Engineering) with related experience required. MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of work experience required. Experience within industrial B2B markets preferred. More specifically, the ideal candidate would have knowledge of key vertical markets for high pressure bottle blowing in the beverage industry, fire and other markets for SCBA, oil and gas, and high pressure industrial applications such as autoclave.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience working with customers and working with phase gate product execution
  • Excellent Presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong Business Acumen – understanding of finance and business case development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines
  • Ability to be persuasive in the absence of organizational authority
