Position Summary

The Associate will work directly with mills, factories and our overseas office to help develop and obtain best prices and quality product for Branded programs targeted to wholesale clubs, department stores, and specialty stores.

Major Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and execute the merchandising time and action calendar to hit key target market dates
  • Develop similar strategies for any new product and growth opportunities as they arise
  • Work with SVP, Design and Sales on new development ideas, current business trends, best sellers, and ongoing styles
  • Solicit fabrics and prices for seasonal developments, work with SVP to negotiate and counter source with multiple mills
  • Work with SVP to negotiate all trims and counter source with multiple suppliers
  • Work with SVP to engineer and solicit best price to hit target LDP’s
  • Responsible to order and track all Proto and SMS samples and insure they arrive by established due dates
  • Coordinate with Design and deliver sales tools for buyer presentations
  • Prepare final costing charts for approval
  • Maintain records for fabric detail sheets, line sheets, bulk order, technology tags and other related development data
  • Monitor Tech Packs for accuracy
  • Prepare and participate in bulk handover meetings to Production.
  • Coordinate applicable records for reconciliation of sales samples, surcharges, liability, trims, and other development expenses.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience Needed

  • 3-5 years’ experience in merchandising and product development (preferably in menswear)
  • Strong product knowledge and understanding of competitive landscape
  • Fabric/garment technology testing knowledge
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and master abilities with Excel.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills including email writing etiquette.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with an ability to grasp and execute rotating priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge of VSR, PLM or other data entry programs a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial with tenacity, high energy and passion for the business
  • Team oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Educational Background Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Salary: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
