Job Description Summary
Incumbent will function as research assistant on a federally funded research study centered on comparing two weight loss interventions for African American adolescents and their caregivers. The research assistant will conduct research assessments with 12-19 year old adolescents and their caregivers in their homes in Charleston and the surrounding area. Responsibilities will include scheduling appointments, obtaining informed consent, measuring research participants’ height and weight, obtaining and disposing of a finger prick blood sample, administering computer-based tasks, and facilitating online survey completion. Flexibility and willingness to work a flexible schedule and work with adolescents and their parents/caregivers on evenings and weekends is required. Position requires the use of a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement. Position is open to applicants residing in Charleston and surrounding counties. Experience working with adolescents and parents strongly preferred. Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills as well as comfort working with ethnic minority youth.Entity
