Project Manager, Software Development (Contractor Remote)

Position Description

We are looking for a project manager to be responsible for project managing a software development effort for one of our company's key client projects. You will be working closely with your team members to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track, and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Responsibilities include submitting project deliverables, preparing status reports, establishing effective project communication plans and the proper execution of said plans.

You will use your strong collaboration, communication, and project management experience to enhance our solutions for digital innovation You will drive the implementation and support of our client solutions, which includes analysis, functional, process and technical design, development, integration, testing, and deployment.

The successful candidate will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.

What you will do Day-to-day

  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Collaborate with agile software and software engineering teams to ship new, impactful features, gather feedback from key stakeholders, and collaborate during development to provide context.
  • Work with business teams and engineering to balance design with technical feasibility, understand the dependencies and coordinate the timeframe for implementing new features and enhancements.
  • Develop user stories in JIRA covering all relevant use cases for approved projects. Work with our clients to prioritize user stories for release, monitor progress and manage all tradeoffs to optimize the overall impact prior to release.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and relevant stakeholders
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each sprint
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Ensure sufficient QA is completed on all development work by providing test cases, administering UAT processes and approving final new product delivery.
  • Work with our engineering teams to gather requirements, model, design, develop, test, implement, support, and tune high availability solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews with software teams, and drive feedback on architecture, design, system integration, performance, and scalability issues
  • Work with our QA Center of Excellence to create test plans and perform thorough quality analysis on the code before going live.
  • Coordinate between Development, Operational and Infrastructure teams to ensure smooth release process
  • Conduct and complete sprint retrospectives with the client at sprint completion to assure client expectations are being met.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
