JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a “Metric-Driven” individual who has a knack and eye for quality and compliance coordination. The Quality Assurance Coordinator (QAC) will work in partnership and under the direction of our Chief Clinical Officer (CCO), supporting key areas of Risk & Quality Management (RQM) of Clinical Services, to improve patient safety and the delivery of patient care. The QAC must be able to work autonomously and collaboratively with the CCO, Chief Medical Officer, Health Center Managers, Clinicians and Registered Nurses throughout the affiliate on RQM audits, initiatives and projects. This includes supporting and maintaining quality and compliance in medical record documentation in accordance with our Medical Standards and Guidelines (MS&G’s). Also, may serve as a quality and compliance resource for clinical staff.

This role is part-time and may be open remote work in (TN, FL, or TX). A Tennessee license is not required. Some travel is required.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct chart audits applying quality criteria, compile statistical data, and write narrative reports summarizing the quality assurance findings for the CCO and CMO..
  • Develop or revise audit tools in consultation with the CCO and CMO as needed.
  • Create plans for communicating with and training health center staff to ensure deficiencies are corrected. Participate in trainings as a resource.
  • Participates in RQM committee meetings, document quality assurance activities in the RQM plan, and assist with RQM projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for frequent auditing of the abnormal lab follow-up processes and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Recognize and identify opportunities for clinical quality assurance.
  • Complete quarterly complication reports by provider and discuss findings with CCO and CMO.
  • Complete occurrence reports.
  • Assist CCO in preparing for, and responding to, State, Federal, funder, and PPFA surveys and oversee corrective action plans.
  • Maintain regular communication with the CCO and CMO regarding issues encountered in the course of auditing medical records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelors and/or Masters in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies.

Experience: Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Registered Nurse or Clinician, and 2-3 years of risk management/auditing experience in a healthcare setting.
