POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for all aspects of the recruiting, hiring and onboarding process for CU Answers, Xtend and eDOC. This person will work directly with the VP - HR to recruit, interview and onboard top talent for all open positions within the organization. They work to establish a network in the community to source candidates from including talent agencies, professional organizations, media, colleges and universities. This individual will be responsible for creating a smooth onboarding process for all employees to ensure that their transition to our organization is effortless. This individual will also be responsible for fostering effective methods for communication and improved processes for the HR Team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with managers to discuss needs; Monitoring and applying HR Recruiting best practices
  • Builds applicant sources by researching, contacting and maintaining rapport with community services, colleges, employment agencies and recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits information.
  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements; contacting recruiters, using media, newsgroups and job sites.
  • Manages Applicant tracking software.
  • Determines applicant qualifications and assesses applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes by interviewing candidates on a consistent set of qualifications; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers and acting as a point of contact to build influential relationships with candidates during the selection process.
  • Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules; arranges travel, lodging, and meals; escorting applicant to interviews; arranging community tours.
  • Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks.
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Provide analytical and well documented reports to the rest of the HR team, EC and Board of Directors regarding recruiting.
  • Responsible for the new employee onboarding process and ensuring that all employees have a smooth transition er to guarantee full integration.
  • Have a full understanding of benefits in order to support all employees throughout benefit enrollment, and act as a liaison to benefit administrators to ensure all employee questions and concerns relating to benefits are addressed and resolved.
  • Help develop and support internal programs as requested by the VP – Human Resources.
  • Provide system administration to staff in all HR systems including: payroll system, benefits systems, AnswerBook, intranet site, and OM.
  • Other tasks as requested by Management.

Business Continuity Responsibilities

Responsible for duties as outlined in the Team Roles and Responsibilities section of the CU*Answers Business and Continuity Recovery Plan.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

CU*Answers operates in a professional office building setting. Some job assignments at CU*Answers are primarily conducted within the office building(s) while others have moderate to extensive travel responsibilities as described in the Job Functions and/or Job Qualifications section(s) above. Travel: Travel between our three Grand Rapids, MI locations will be required on a regular basis. This could be as often as daily. There may be addition travel to conferences seminars outside of Michigan for education purposes on an annual basis.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. The employee must be able to see within normal vision range. The individual must have manual dexterity to operate a keyboard and mouse.

Requirements:

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

High School graduate or equivalent is required.

Four-year degree in business-related field (specifically Human Resources) or relevant work experience preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required.

Excellent organizational skills; ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines, and ability to prioritize work and determine critical tasks.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to compose single correspondence or other materials as directed.

Thoroughness, excellent attention to detail; ability to take initiative and provides timely and appropriate follow-up regarding areas of responsibility and meet commitments.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment, maintain strict code of confidentiality and use of discretion.

Knowledge of current labor laws.

Strong problem-solving and presentation skills.
