RN Service Line Coordinator OR

Summary :

Under the general supervision of the unit’s director or designee the Service Line Coordinator provides leadership for service staff ensuring the quality and integrity of care delivered. They develop plan of care for service based on RN assessment/re-assessment and are responsbile for the fiscal and human resource allocation based on guidelines. Some job responsibilities may include:

• Medical/healthcare error reporting
• Developing and implementing fall prevention measures in the OR
• Medication safety for the OR including conscious/deep sedation monitoring, safe storage and use of paralytics, safe storage and use of narcotics
• Correct handling of blood products

Education/Experience:

• Associate's Degree required
• Current State of TX RN license or compact state license required
• BLS required and issued by the American Heart Associaton or American Red Cross
• ACLS preferred
• CNOR preferred
• OR experience required
• Management experience preferred and competent in peri-operative practice
• Must have expertise in the specifc specialty providing leadership/management skills
• Other leadership training and activity in professional organizations highly preferred
