Job Summary


Perform a variety of technical duties involved in conducting experiments and determinations in support of research-oriented activities at Duke University Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Perform a variety of technical duties including cell culture, biochemistry, histology and physiology.
  • Set up instruments, material and apparatus, and operate standard laboratory equipment required for specific tests.
  • Maintain mouse colony, collect samples for genotyping, time pregnancies for mice and exercise mice on treadmills.
  • Prepare culture media, chemicals, reagents and solutions. Assist in the execution of calcium imaging experiments.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of materials, supplies and equipment for performance of duties; clean and maintain standard laboratory equipment.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
