A full-time technician position is available to assist on a field- and laboratory- based research project that is designed to help the Ohio Division of Wildlife understand the impact of stocked Blue Catfish on resident sport fish populations. This project requires extensive field sampling during spring through fall in reservoirs around Ohio. Laboratory and computer work (e.g., fish dissections, diet processing, data entry and plotting) will occur when not in the field. Fieldwork will entail collecting habitat information and fish using a variety of tools, including gillnets, boat-mounted electrofishing, and hoop-nets. Laboratory and computer work will be done using programs such as Microsoft Office and R. Training will be provided.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field is required at the time of the start date.
Required Qualifications
One year of experience in Ecology is required.
