School Psychologist Location: PortOrchard, WA

Job Description: We are currently seeking a highly qualified and dedicated School Psychologist for a school in PortOrchard School District. As a School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in promoting students' academic success, social-emotional well-being, and overall mental health. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, academic skills, social-emotional functioning, and behavioral concerns.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to address students' emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement intervention strategies and behavior management plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, evaluate interventions, and make recommendations for appropriate educational placements.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to students and staff members as needed.
  • Support the development and implementation of school-wide programs and initiatives aimed at promoting positive mental health and preventing behavioral problems.
  • Stay up to date with current research and best practices in the field of school psychology.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
  • Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
  • Prior experience working as a School Psychologist in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of assessment tools, intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of students, families, and professionals.
  • Demonstrated understanding of special education laws and regulations.
