As an Aviation Security Technician, you will have the opportunity to interact with all airport departments, senior management, City departments, and all airport vendors, contractors, air carriers, and tenants, regarding the badging, fingerprinting and security training for over 33,000 airport employees. This position will perform front-line airport security work, processing requests for Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badges, including Criminal History Records Checks, Security Threat Assessments, and other access authorizations at Denver International Airport (DEN).

Additionally, you can expect to:
  • Verify information submitted by individuals, companies and Authorizing Signatories. Ensures information submitted complies with all local and federal regulations
  • Maintain and apply an accurate knowledge of relevant local and federal regulations applicable to the processing of badging applicants. Establishes and maintains company profiles to establish access rights according to job duties, company function, Airport Security Program and TSA regulations
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with applicant and appropriate local, state, or federal officials for further information as necessary
  • Provide documented recommendations and solutions to improve current departmental processes and customer service, to include driving process efficiencies and waste reduction where applicable
  • Conduct the initial and renewing Authorized Signatory process and training classes
  • Provide assistance to customers in a prompt, efficient, courteous, and professional manner; works to resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Display high standards of ethical conduct and attention to detail, promotes a positive and friendly atmosphere and demonstrates empathy towards customers and coworkers
  • Communicate effectively with others, verbally and in writing, considering the audience and nature of the information being shared
  • Answer high-volume phone requests for information
  • Perform other duties as assigned
About You
We are looking for a positive, energetic, team player who thrives in a fast pace high volume environment. In addition, we need someone who is flexible, reliable and has excellent communications and computer skills with attention to detail. Our ideal candidate will also have the following:
  • Two plus years’ experience in Aviation, Security and/or Customer Service
  • Two years data entry experience, including experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with security related and/or identity management software (Safe/Quantum Secure)
  • Experience with key performance indicators and metrics to improve operational performance (e.g. Power BI)

  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Two (2) years of specialized clerical experience processing requests for airport identification badges or two years of clerical experience using knowledge of aviation specific regulations, database access and TSA regulations.
  • A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License at the time of application.

FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
