Job Description

Who we are:

Elevate K-12 is on a mission to ensure every student receives a high-quality education, regardless of zip code. We are changing the way classrooms work by creating a brand new category of live, virtual classroom instruction to give students access to exceptional teachers through our two-sided network. Our certified teachers from across the country are securely streamed into tens of thousands of classrooms, providing instruction that would otherwise be unavailable in many districts across the U.S. Our goal is to enable high-quality, live teaching for every learner in the U.S., from kindergarten through their first jobs, so they can identify and pursue their unique passions in life. We are the new way to the classroom!

Elevate K-12 is a series-C funded (led by General Catalyst), high-growth, EdTech company enjoying strong business momentum. We are growing at 150%+ CAGR in a $50B TAM with plans to double again next year. We have the first-mover, and now the first-scaler, advantage and we are working to become an iconic EdTech brand in live teaching, uplifting the lives of millions of students and creating unique job opportunities for teachers in this new, innovative category of education.

The Role:

Elevate K-12 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Copy and Content Writer to create and manage high-quality content in support of multiple functions across the company: Marketing (B2B and B2C), Customer Success and Sales. The ideal candidate should have experience writing longer form content such as engaging blog posts, email series, case studies, and thought leadership articles, while also serving as a copywriter for market-facing materials. Elevate's style is simple, accessible and a bit edgy, and candidates should be able to produce compelling copy and content that resonates with the target audiences, objectives, and aligns with the company's brand voice and tone.

Responsibilities:

  • Inform strategies and write high-quality content for Elevate k-12's website, blog, social media platforms, and lifecycle emails in support of acquisition, engagement and retention goals
  • Develop case studies and thought leadership articles that showcase the company as the category creator and authority in LIVE teaching — all while educating readers on LIVE teaching itself.
  • Help develop and iterate on the company's voice and tone
  • Create copy for various marketing materials such as sales collateral, brochures, and presentations, and ensure that the messaging is consistent with the brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, product, customer success, teacher growth, and sales to develop messaging, positioning, content, and emails that align with business objectives.
  • Edit and proofread all market-facing content for accuracy, grammar, and spelling, ensuring that all content is both accurate and high quality.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, research, and best practices, incorporating findings into day-to-day work.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously — and freelancers and agencies, as needed — while delivering high-quality content within deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated writing style that fits with Elevate K-12's simple, accessible, and somewhat edgy style, or demonstrated ability to flex writing style to fit within a brand's voice and guidelines.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in copywriting, content creation, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of writing engaging and effective content across various channels and in a variety of formats.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to select and manage freelancers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and take feedback constructively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and content management systems, such as Hubspot.
  • Experience writing for the K-12 education sector is preferred.

If you are a passionate writer with a strong background in copywriting and content creation, and have a desire to work in a fast-paced environment, please apply with your resume and 3 writing samples (or a link to your portfolio).

What we offer:

  • An amazing team of "Elevaters" with a strong, inclusive, and diverse work culture
  • Competitive compensation
  • Unlimited PTO (Paid Time Off) & 12 company paid holidays
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Benefits – Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and more
  • Phone & Internet stipend
  • One time office and equipment stipend

We are an equal employment opportunity employer. Qualified candidates are considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender (including gender identity, gender expression, change of sex, and transgender status), sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, age, military or veteran status, physical or mental disability, medical condition, pregnancy, marital status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
