Description

SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician III in Indianapolis, IN.

This position is fully onsite.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Performs engineering calibration, of electro mechanical-based specialized equipment using complex electronic and mechanical devices. Conducts routine maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of calibration standards and associated equipment. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Understands industry and quality concepts and metrology standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and NIST. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data. Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.). Performs mathematical calculations per engineering specifications. Undertakes analyses of data where guidelines are provided.

  • Performing routine equipment maintenance.
  • Calibrating equipment to industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting equipment failures.
  • Conducting equipment repairs.
  • Responding to client queries.
  • Suggesting equipment upgrades.
  • Maintaining calibration equipment and supplies.
  • Completing job cards and equipment reports.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • AA Degree in related discipline and three (3) years’ related experience or High School and five (5) years related experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance. SAIC is willing to help obtain
  • Good understanding of basic electrical and mechanical concepts
  • Electronic test experience

DESIRED

  • Calibration/verification metrology experience desired.
  • DoD experience preferred
