Job Description

BEI Construction is seeking a Service Manager to support our Audio-Visual Division. As Service Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing a team of technicians, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services for events and installations, and developing and maintaining relationships with clients and suppliers. This role will be based at our San Leandro office location with periodic travel to jobsites located throughout the Bay Area.


Responsibilities & Duties

  • Responsible for managing all activities associated with the timely, accurate, and on-budget completion of service requests
  • Coordinate and schedule technicians
  • Manage workload distribution and monitor job progress
  • Monitor material and supply inventory and forecast needs
  • Responsible for effective and timely communication with customers
  • Manage compliance of client service maintenance agreements and renewals
  • Ensure that any scope, schedule, cost, or change of terms are handled in accordance to stated change order procedures
  • Review project status to identify problem areas and spearhead resolutions that meet customer satisfaction
  • Attend team meetings of all projects, statuses, and utilization
  • Keep accurate files and records of service status and activities
  • Raise awareness to management regarding potential claims, back charges, or large costs that will affect BEI financially
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain the service portal
  • Manage all related quality and safety issues on service work
  • Serve as backup programmer or technician if needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience:
      • Undergraduate degree in IT, electrical, mechanical, construction management, or other related studies with 3 years’ work experience, or
      • 5 years' experience in the field of A/V or Project Management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Crestron, Extron, Bi-Amp, QSC programming experience preferred, but not required
  • CRM, D-Tools experience preferred
  • Ability to learn new software programs
  • Strong time management skills required
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and make management decisions within the scope of policies, procedures, and budgets
  • Valid CA Driver License and MVR that meets BEI driving standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
