Social Media/Communication Specialist

Social Pet Hotel & Daycare (Social Pet) is looking to hire a creative, hard-working dog lover with communication experience to work as a Communication Specialist at our Charlotte, NC facility. This entry-level customer service and communication position starts at $13.00/hr plus performance-based bonus after a 60 day training period is successfully completed.

All of our employees are eligible for performance-based bonuses every 2 weeks, free daycare for their dogs while on shift, 12 free nights of lodging, and more. ABOUT SOCIAL PET

We are a family-owned pet hotel & daycare which offers the best choices for doggy daycare, boarding, and grooming in Charlotte and Pineville, NC. We offer daycare options including group play and one-on-one enrichment activities; a variety of comfortable boarding accommodations with personalized amenities; and spa services ranging from a basic bath, brush, and nail grind to a full pup makeover. We support dog parents by identifying each dog's personality traits, prior experiences, behavior, and level of athleticism so we can create a program that truly benefits each individual dog.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

The Communication Specialist functions to create mutually beneficial relationships between Social Pet and its audience. With strategy and consistency in mind, you execute the communication between parents and our staff via texted photos, report cards, and social media posts. With attention to detail, you use our software programs to accurately express each dog's experience. You keep our mission and vision in mind with every message and post. You creatively execute tasks to further our marketing initiatives and create a positive sentiment towards Social Pet.

You will be trained to carefully observe dog behavior and ensure that good play skills and calming signals are being used at all times. Using your excellent photography skills, you engage with Pet Care Specialists and Enrichment Specialists to capture the facility and operations in a manner that is accurate and strategically driven.

You must be able to proactively address customer and staff challenges, and leading by example through daily positive interactions with the people and dogs around you is crucial to your success. You get to enjoy all kinds of canine love, from giant, enthusiastic, slobbery love to dainty, reserved love. You freely dole out petting and affection to dogs of all breeds and temperaments. You love them all! Thanks to your commitment, our four-legged friends love their time with us and their parents can enjoy peace of mind.

This position typically works 7-ish hour shifts. Social Pet is open 365 days a year, so a willingness to work weekends and holidays is part of the job. Your specific schedule will be discussed in-person as we do offer flexibility to work around your personal work or school schedule where possible.

COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Posting to Facebook and Instagram
  • Texting pet parents photos of their dogs
  • Creating and sending report cards to pet parents with information about the dog's day
  • Maintain Consistent Texted Communication with pet parents
  • Providing support during Marketing internal events


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior photography or social media experience.
  • Physical ability to handle dogs of all sizes and breeds
  • Ability to stand for 6 hours at a time in all weather conditions
  • Customer service skills
  • A love for animals
