DAY-TO-DAY
This full-time social services counseling position works during the day.
As a Social Work Counselor with our nonprofit, you provide support and counseling services to improve the lives of our youth and young adult program participants. You provide individual and group counseling sessions as needed as well as maintain regular contact with participants to meet program standards and achieve retention. To meet the needs of our participants and their families, you ensure referrals are made to the appropriate internal and external services. You also conduct thorough assessments and write progress notes regarding each participant.
Additionally, you help develop educational and career-related goals with participants based on our motivational interviewing process. You maintain open communication with program participants and graduates through face-to-face contact, phone calls, and social media such as Facebook. Using your exceptional organizational skills, you maintain participant files, including notes and reports regarding each participant's progress toward reaching their goals.
You also provide outcomes reporting and conduct follow-up services for our program graduates. As needed, you participate in ongoing training, professional development opportunities, and meetings to continuously improve at your job and stay up to date about our nonprofit. You enjoy helping your clients find success, and it brings you great satisfaction to know you thrive in this social work position!
